Throughout October, the Fairmont Lions Club is offering free vision screening for children at child care facilities in Fairmont and White Hall. Preschool children may have visual conditions such as amblyopia, or lazy eye. Vision in one eye does not develop the same as the other eye. If not detected and treated by age six, chances for successful treatment drop off dramatically. We use a touchless digital screening device that may help alert the parents or guardian to the need for an eye exam by an eye care professional. Lions KidSight USA is a nation-wide program of Lions clubs across the country to ensure our children receive eye screenings and follow-up care when needed.
Lesage Lions collaborated with Cox Landing United Methodist Church to provide food for families in need.

As we say goodbye to 2022, it is easy to think of resolutions for the New Year. We would like to invite you to think of the environment as you plan your resolutions and save your "squishy" plastic for us, so that we can recycle it. We have several dropoff locations throughout Ohio County. The list of our partners and drop-off locations can we found at: https://ohiocountyvirtuallions.club/recycling/
We are sharing a picture of 342 lbs of plastic brought to us from the Wetzel County Solid Waste Authority in conjunction with our other partner the Ohio County Solid Waste Authority. For every 500 lbs of plastic that we recycle, we earn a Trex bench to be placed in the community. We are currently working on bench # 32 and should be finishing collecting for that bench very soon.
If you have questions or know an organization who'd like to work with us, visit us on Facebook-Ohio County Virtual Lions Club.
